What's Included in the tents?
The tents come with nearly everything you need for a hassle free stay at the site. As standard, each comes with 1 x double bed, and 2 x single beds, with all bedding and bed linen included. There's also a couple of small tables inside, as well as a large storage box (here you'll find basic crockery - cups, plates, bowls and cutlery). There's a magnetic torch stuck to the centre pole that you can use in the tent and when using the facilities at night time.
What cooking facilities do you have at the site?
We have large 2 coal BBQs (coal is available for sale at the site) for shared use, each with a BBQ tool set. There's also a couple of kettles and fridges in the communal tent. Forgotten your camping gas? Don't worry, we've got a supply of butane bottles available to buy from the warden!
Can I bring my own inflatables/kayaks/paddle boards to the site?
Yes, absolutely. All we ask is that you are careful of other users when in and on the water. We also have 2 kayaks available for hire (£5 an hour).
What should I bring with me?
While most of what you need is included, there are a few bits that would help make your stay even more comfortable! Camping chairs (we have small log seats around the fire pits, but the aren't the most comfortable things in the world), a gas stove (no need to wait for your turn on the BBQ!), towels, any pots and pans you may need and good sturdy footwear if you plan on walking from the site.
Can I use public transport to reach the site?
Yes you can! The site is a short walk from the Slough Green bus stop. The stop is served by the 271 bus, which you can catch from Haywards Heath train station (direct trains to London and the South Coast). As we are a rural location, the busses can be quite sporadic, so please check the timetable before travelling. Alternatively, you can get a taxi from Haywards Heath station for around £10-15. We'd advise pre-booking to ensure you get a good price (Evo Taxis are cheapest, although can be unreliable, especially early morning or late night). Please note, Slough Green (pronounced Slough-er) is a request stop, so please let the driver know you're planning on getting off there when you get on the bus.
Can I get takeaways delivered to the site?
Yes, all the major food delivery companies serve the site (Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat). For a hassle-free delivery, use The Courtyard, Holmsted Farm, Staplefield Road RH17 5JF as the delivery address, and walk down and meet them in the large carpark on the way in, as they usually get very lost when delivering directly to the site.
Can I pitch my own tent?
Sadly not, we're exploring the possibility of having some pitch-your-own pitches at the site in the future, but at the moment we only have permission to use the site for bell tents.
Can I bring a campervan to the site?
You cannot park a campervan or caravan at the Himalayas Site, however we have a soon to be open CL Club Site located just past the gate to the Himalayas. There's 5 hard standing pitches with metered electric hook-ups (pre-paid cards are available from the Farm Office) and water supplies. Please note, you must be a Caravan And Motorhome club member to use the site. There will be a link on the website to book once the site is open.
